Mahmoud Najafi Arab, President of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, sent a letter to John Denton, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), calling for the institution to play a more active role in supporting economic stability, trade continuity and reducing the consequences of recent crises on the private sector.

Continuing his correspondence during the 40-day war and afterwards, the head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, in a letter to the Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), referred to the position of the International Chamber of Commerce as the largest institution representing the private sector in the world, and emphasized the importance of this organization's role in promoting free trade, sustainable development, and strengthening international economic cooperation.

According to the Tehran Chamber of Commerce's public relations report, the letter referred to recent developments and the military attack against Iran in the middle of the negotiations, and wrote that these conditions have led to an intensification of the atmosphere of uncertainty and weakening of economic stability, and have placed additional pressure on businesses, entrepreneurs, and human resources.

The letter from the head of the Tehran Chamber states: "Assessments show that production and infrastructure sectors, including steel, petrochemicals, energy, and logistics, have faced losses and disruptions; an issue that has also affected the production chain and downstream industry activities, causing damage to energy and transportation infrastructure, reduced exports, increased trade costs, and challenges such as liquidity shortages, sales declines, and employment threats."

Najafi-Arab further emphasized that the scope of the consequences of these developments goes beyond Iran's borders and has also affected international supply chains and trade.

He called on the International Chamber of Commerce, as the voice of the global private sector, to take a responsible approach in supporting peace, stability, and trade security, and
to pay special attention to supporting affected businesses, maintaining the stability of supply chains, protecting employment, and facilitating trade.

In conclusion, the head of the Tehran Chamber emphasized the global economy's growing need for an independent, balanced, and forward-looking voice, expressing hope that with
the active and effective participation of international economic institutions, the path to return to stability and sustainable development will be paved.
